Nested Groups

This support article has been created to help group leaders organise their groups.

About Nested Groups:

Nested groups enable better organisation of the learners within your group. When using nested groups, individual teams and departments can be separated and have their own group leader while still being part of the main group. 

Each nested group can have their own group leader, which will not have permission to access other groups. Utilising nested groups means department or team-specific training pathways can be developed, so learners' are only enrolled in the courses that matter to them. 

Configuring Nested Groups:

Nested groups are available to every customer, but only a developer can only configure nested groups. If you would like to have nested groups configured, please email support@knowledgelab.training. You must include the following information in your email:

• The name of each group - this is often each team/department and you are not limited to the amount of nested groups.
• The first name, last name and email address of each group leader. Every group must have a group leader.
• The number of licences you wish each group to have - the total amount across the nested groups can not exceed the amount purchased. 
• Which courses you would like each group to have - different groups can have different training pathways with different courses and scheduling.

Once the request and the above information have been received, your request will be acknowledged by email. Once a developer has processed your request, you will receive a notification via email - please allow up to 10 working days for configuration.

After nested groups have been configured, each group leader will need to enrol their users into their group. If you want single sign-on configuring, you must notify us after each group leader has enrolled their users.
